Booking terms
Last updated: 2026
Northolt Removals operates under the British Association of Removers (BAR) Overseas Group standard contract terms. The summary below sets out the key points; the full terms accompany every written quote.
Quotes
Written quotes are valid for thirty days from issue. After that we may need to re-survey or re-quote depending on changes in route conditions, fuel costs, or your move details.
Booking and deposit
A booking is confirmed when you sign the quote and pay the deposit. The deposit is refundable up to fourteen days before your scheduled collection date. Deposits are protected under the BAR Advance Payment Guarantee scheme.
Balance payment
The balance is due before the load leaves the Northolt depot. Payment can be made by bank transfer or card.
Cancellation
If you cancel more than fourteen days before scheduled collection, your deposit is refunded in full. Cancellations within fourteen days incur a charge equal to the deposit. Cancellations within seventy-two hours of collection incur the deposit plus reasonable costs already committed (depot space, crew, customs filings).
Insurance
All-risks goods-in-transit cover is included with every move and underwritten by an established UK marine insurer. The certificate of insurance accompanies the written quote. Higher-value items declared at survey are itemised on the certificate.
Claims
Any claim for loss or damage must be reported in writing within seven days of delivery. Photographs and the inventory document accompany the claim. The insurer assesses and responds.
Customs paperwork
We file UK-end customs paperwork (EORI, ToR1, HMRC C1331) and the destination filing on your behalf. You warrant that the inventory information you provide is accurate; misrepresentation is a customs offence at both ends and we cannot be held liable for resulting delays or penalties.
Items we cannot move
Live plants and animals, perishable food, hazardous materials (including lithium-ion batteries above a certain capacity), and items prohibited under UK or destination customs law cannot travel. The full list accompanies the written quote.
Disputes
Disputes that cannot be resolved between us are referred to the BAR Overseas Group dispute-resolution scheme — an independent process available to all BAR-member customers.
